March Winds Are Blowing!

Wind can damage the hair. Exposure to strong persistent winds can create snags and tangles in wavy and curly long hair. The wind buffets the hairs against one another which rough the cuticle layer causing the hairs to catch on one another. In addition, hair that is repeatedly buffeted in strong or gusting winds can develop split ends as the hairs brush against one another. Most of these problems can be controlled with modern styling products, like a control gel or hairspray. When possible limit your exposure to the elements, not only for hair benefits but also for health benefits. The Chinese believe that exposure to wind through an open channel via the ears nose or throat can be a pathway to illness. The Transylvania Community Arts Council has invited artists from Transylvania County and WNC to enter this open show entitled “Pigments of Your Imagination.” The art exhibit will run from March 4 – 31.

I will have some of my Silk Paintings and Silk Scarves in the show. The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception on… Friday, March 4 from 5 pm – 7 pm. During the reception enjoy music by multi-media artist H. Hammond George will play her classical guitar stylings. Hope to see you there!
