Lets get ready for cooler weather
"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer."
- Helen Hunt Jackson, September, 1830-1885
The saying goes, "sweater weather is better weather." But the change in temperature can really confuse your hair—and we're talking both color and texture.
Amp Up Moisture
You know the itchy, dry skin that naturally comes with colder weather? The same goes for your hair. "The transition between summer to fall is when it is vital to add a hair mask or change your shampoo or conditioner so your hair can adjust to the change in temperature," says Julie. Look for extra moisturizing ingredients like Argan oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, and Shea Butter to secure hydration in your strands. We recommend, So Pure Moisture Treatment, Zerran Smoothing mask, O&M 7 Day Miracle Mask, or Jeveux Nourishing Mask, use one to two times per week.
SEVEN DAY MIRACLE
An intense moisture masque for damaged hair. Seven Day Miracle will leave all hair types deeply moved with its unique blend of Australian native oils. A sweet scent of Vanilla Bean takes this potent moisture masque to the next level.
Use Natural Ingredients
Prevent further drying your hair by keeping your products all-natural. “Natural ingredients are the go-to because they won't strip your hair of oils like synthetic and alcohol based ingredients do," says Julie. For healing and extra extra hydration with natural ingredients.
THE POWER BASE
The king of lifts for damaged hair. This intense dual action treatment works to restore your mane from within. Natural Protein reconstructs weakened hair to bind broken strands while Apricot Kernel Oil and Sweet Almond moisturizes and nourishes the hair’s exterior.
Go Darker or Warmer
Summer is synonymous with sun-kissed hair, with highlights a staple for pretty much all shades. But as your time spent outside shortens as the weather gets colder, those highlights will fade. Julie recommends beating nature to the punch by going a shade or two darker or warmer for fall. She says, "Coloring it darker allows this transition to happen easier and evens out the color, this can be done all over or with stands of low lights”.
Invest in Volumizer
Lots of humidity = big hair. As the weather gets colder, the humidity decreases, which may cause your hair to go flat. Womp womp. Julie says she loves using our new
O&M Rootalicious to give roots a much-needed boost.
Lilly Pilly works body into the roots and Quandong conditions and protects the hair from styling.
Try a Clarifying Shampoo
If your experiencing dull flat hair. Summer can leave a lot of build-up at your roots – hair spray, silicone, and medication’s can all cause greasy, limp roots. No bueno. Start the new season off right by giving your scalp a good detox by using a clarifying shampoo you will get more volume in your hair Use once every two weeks. Julie recommends Zerran Absolution Shampoo and O&M Detox Shampoo
For the Ultimate Cleanse
Australian River Mint deeply cleanses without stripping essential oils, and Peppermint Oil leaves a cooling effect.
In between the prevailing influence of the ’90s glam and everyone’s obsession with easy opulence, the shimmers are touching everything in between clothing and make-up this season.
Making it all about the eyes, the return of the metallic eye shadow easily marks one of the most exciting make-up trends for fall 2015. Shimmery plums, emerald greens and rich gold and coppers should be living on your lids come autumn’s crisp nights. Terry suggests a hint of glimmer on the eyes or cheeks, or try a gold on eyes and a plum lip.
Terry Recommends Zuii Rich Gold, and Bronze Eyeshadow and Zuii Plum Lipstick for this look.
